Trick 1: The polls say he or she is leading.
The election is never decided based on polls. They don’t know how the election will turn out until all the ballots are counted.
Trick 2: Your vote doesn’t make a difference or doesn’t count.
That’s a lie. Every vote counts in your community, your city, your state and this country. They want you to stay at home, so other people can make decisions for you.
Trick 3: I’m not political. I don’t like either candidate.
That may be true, however everything is political. Your job, our schools, our communities are impacted by the local, state and federal politics. They may not control every aspect, but they indirect affect every facet of life.
Trick 4: What are they doing for me? They don’t care about us.
This a cop-out question and statement. When you do not choose who you want in office locally, statewide and nationally, you are giving them permission to do whatever they please. When you put pressure on politicians, they will either do what they are supposed to do or go rogue. If they don’t perform well, replace them by voting them out of office.
Trick 5: All politicians are corrupt.
That’s like saying all kids are bad. You have very good politicians who take their responsibilities seriously and want to lead to improve the conditions of their people. Likewise, you have corrupt politicians who are in positions to serve big corporations or just their own self-interests.
Trick 6: Disinformation on social media platforms.
Today, we are bombarded with false information, people who straight up lie, fake AI created images, foreign bots and fake accounts whose only goal is to mislead the American people. You have to be smart. Research information on credible “real” news networks and newspapers that you trust to report the truth.

However, it still goes to prove how valuable your vote is.
Don’t get robbed. Know your rights. Be prepared, vote early if you can. Just Vote!
